2014 International LiDAR Mapping Forum Conference

2014 International LiDAR Mapping Forum Conference Program Launched
The three-day technical conference and exhibition focused on airborne, terrestrial and bathymetric LiDAR, with a particular emphasis on mobile mapping systems, takes place February 17-19 2014 in Denver Colorado. ASPRS is a proud support of International LiDAR Mapping Forum.


Innovative Conference
The highly acclaimed international conference offers an opportunity to learn about the latest advances in technology and hear about industry changes and developments first hand from industry experts. Find out more about data capture systems, data fusion/classification and processing techniques and the increasing integration of key technologies. International Exhibition
Running alongside the conference is the exhibition of 70 system and component manufacturers, operators and service companies who will be showcasing new LiDAR products and a wide range of new technologies and services. Exhibitors include airborne, terrestrial and bathymetric LiDAR, and complementary sensor manufacturers, survey service companies, data processing, GIS and management specialists and the latest mobile mapping vehicles.

Mobile mapping vehicles will be on hand for all visitors wishing to view and experience the latest technological developments in mobile mapping.

ASPRS Hot Topics
ASPRS will provide an update on activities of the society associated with LiDAR and point cloud processing. Among these activities are:
  • The new concept of LAS domain profiles
  • The newly created bathymetric profile for littoral mapping
  • Accuracy metrics being jointly developed by the ASPRS and the USGS for LiDAR calibration and project geometric correction

Photo Science’s Bowe Named URISA Young Professional of the Year

Lexington, KY, November 26, 2013 – Photo Science, Inc. a Quantum Spatial Company (Photo Science) staff member Ryan Elizabeth Bowe, GISP has been named URISA's (Urban and Regional Information Systems Association) Young Professional of the Year.

This award is in recognition of Bowe’s outstanding efforts as part of URISA's Vanguard Cabinet. The Vanguard Cabinet is a URISA initiative which debuted in 2011 to engage young GIS practitioners (35 and under), increase their numbers in the organization, and better understand the concerns facing these future leaders of the GIS community. The Cabinet’s mission is to collaborate with URISA’s Board of Directors and Committees in creating and promoting programs and policies of benefit to young professionals.

Bowe is a GIS Technician at Photo Science and has been a URISA member since 2011. Regarding being named the URISA Young Professional of the Year, Bowe said, “I want to thank Photo Science for giving me the opportunity to participate in URISA. This award is an incredible honor. Working with this organization has been unbelievably rewarding. I have not only grown professionally, but I have a fantastic network of people with whom I am as close as family. I hope to be able to inspire other young professionals to participate in URISA."

Bowe has 11 years of experience providing GIS support. She is especially experienced in metadata creation and is well regarded as Photo Science's premier metadata expert. She compiles and oversees the management of metadata creation for Photo Science. In addition to being an active member of URISA, she is working with the Young Professionals Council of the American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS), she is a founding board member and secretary of Cumberland URISA (the local chapter of URISA in Kentucky and Tennessee), she reviews applications for Geographic Information Systems Professionals (GISP) Certification through the GIS Certification Institute (GISCI), and she is a member of the Kentucky Association of Mapping Professionals (KAMP).
